What's Happened???

Well, I haven't written in a while. After Yellowstone National Park we meandered over to my home town, Charleston, after stopping at Mt. Rushmore, South Dakota, De Smit, Minnesota & Deep Creek Campground, which was in North Carolina. I got to rest a whole month there in my old and comfy storage spot! From July 3 to July 29 I rested up in Charleston before my next long adventure. I was
exhausted after June! The funny talking people stayed with my owners.
But, a HUGE event took place in July!!! I was bought by the funny talking people! How exciting! I will miss my old owners, but I am looking forward to my new owners. If you want to continue tracking me and where I will be going, visit the funny talking people's blog.
I am ceremonially handing over my journal to my old owners new RV, who's name is Wilbur 2. He seems really nice as I got a chance to talk to him while we were in storage together. He said that he comes from Pennsylvania and was used by an older guy to go to motorcycle shows to sell parts. He also said that the guy was really nice and that he didn't even use half of what was in him. I told him that he has a lot to look forward to with his new owners! If you want to learn more about Wilbur 2 click the "About Me" tab at the top of this page.

Had to stop a couple of times to wait for bison to cross the road! I don't know why we had to wait. I'm bigger than they are! Although, they did look a bit fierce.

Bryce Canyon National Park

This is a little delayed also. Bryce Canyon was beautiful! We have been seeing so many rock formations lately. It just shows how powerful the Flood must have been to carve such amazing formations!

Zion National Park

I'm a little bit behind in my journaling, so I'm going to make up for it now. This entry is about Zion National Park. The rock formations were beautiful and huge! It was fun driving into the park with all of the rock around you.

These were some of the little folks from Down Under playing in some snow. They loved it!

June 2011 471
This tree is called General Sherman. The diameter of the foot of the tree is 36 feet. That's HUGE!!!

June 2011 473
I heard the folks from Down Under saying that a person looking up at General Sherman is equivalent to a mouse looking up at a six foot person!

Yosemite National Park

I am having SO much fun!!!

These are the folks from Down Under, who talk funny (Ok, I think you get that by now). They have been taking great care of me. The waterfall that is behind them is called Bridal Veil Falls.

I love the folks from down under, but they are a little strange. They get all excited over a little squirrel! Squirrels can be very annoying and they are everywhere!!! I didn't quite understand why they got so excited over a squirrel until I found out that they don't have squirrels in the Land Down Under. I guess I would be excited if I got to see a Kangaroo!

They have the fluffy white things too! (By the way, if you didn't notice, I'M IN THE PICTURE!!!!)

The folks from Down Under took a walk to Mirror Lake. (Half Dome Rock is in the distance.)

Update

This is me being filled up with water by the folks from Down Under, who talk funny. I'm getting used to their funny talk. I'm really hot in Needles. Much preferred Sequoia: a lot cooler and with snow!!! The folks from Down Under loved the snow!

A Whirlwind!!!

Whew! These past few days have been a whirlwind! It all started on Friday. We started driving at 5:30 in the morning. Only the big owner people (mom and dad) were in me. It was strangely quiet... I heard them talking about the little owner people staying at their grandparents house. Must be a fun place, because whenever I heard them on the phone they were talking excitedly. We drove until we got to Arkansas where a relative lives. I recognized the house as the mommy owner's sister's house. We had visited this place before! We got up real early the next morning and left at 6:00. The next time they turned me off was 26 hours later and I saw a sign that said "Los Angeles." I drove 2,517 miles!!! Then this family, that I had heard a LOT about from listening to the owner family's conversations, was touring me. They were really nice, but talked kind of funny! I think they were from the Land Down Under... Then the big owner people disappeared!!! I heard this new, but nice, family talking about them going back home. Then this family drove me to Bakersfield, CA and spent the night with me there. The next day they woke up feeling more rested than the day before, but still a little tired. They must want to see America, because they drove to Yosemite and that's where we are now. Wow it's sure fun to back on an adventure!

Strange Things...

My owners have been making a big fuss over me lately. They have fixed everything on me that has but the slightest problem with it. I'm as good as new! The dad owner has used some great stuff to get me sparkling clean on the outside and he even waxed me! I also got a new storage spot with a roof over me. I have over heard some talk about driving all the way to California! There has also been excitement over some family that is going to stay in me for the month of June after I get to California. Another trip, hopefully...

What's This???

This is going to be the journal of our RV, Wilbur. We like to take fun vacations so I thought that we could blog about them in a unique way! Everything is going to be from our RV's perspective. Have fun enjoying his first entry...

So excited. My owners came and got me out of storage today! I hope it's not to fix something on me 'cause I don't think anything is broken. Been feeling pretty good, just lonely and ready for another adventure.

Yay! It's an adventure! They spent a day loading bins and bins of stuff into me. Whew, they take a lot of stuff. Guess it's because there's so many of them. Here's a picture of all of them (except the photographer, Ellen) just minutes before we left their driveway. Aren't they a nice looking family? And so much fun, too. Although, a tad bit loud sometimes, but I get used to it and it sure beats the lonely days in storage. Wonder where we're going to...
Only had to drive 5 1/2 hours - not too bad. Saw a sign just before we parked that said, "Atlanta". I've been here before!Everyone did their jobs nicely and we set up camp at a campground at Stone Mountain. I love sleeping in the woods with the smell of a campfire nearby. (Just as long as they keep it far away from my favorite gas drink which I keep safely hidden in a tank inside me. Heard Mr. Daddy Owner say how expensive my favorite drink is getting. Uh-oh...)

My owner family rented a mini-van so I got to rest at Stone Mountain for a few days. Love the quiet and beautiful lake view. But when they came, wow, were they all a flurry with news of their adventures. They met some dear friends of theirs at the Georgia aquarium. Here' a picture of HJL with cute little Rebekah. (I like Rebekah - she's a tiny little fireball of energy and joy. She was just a tiny baby when this owner family bought me. Wow, has she grown!)

I heard them talking about this cool penguin exhibit where they actually got to climb through tubes through the exhibit. Wish I could've been there. Don't think I would have fit, though.
I love the rainy day picnics they have inside of me. Then I get to hear all of their stories! What a fun family they are. (But did I mention they're a little loud?)
The next day they left in their minivan again (they call it 'Eustace'. What kind of name is that? Their daddy has been reading them a book called The Silver Chair around the campfire and I think they got the name from the book so they named the car after him. Did you know that's how they got my name, too? They were reading a book called Charlotte's Web on one of our adventures and they all loved this pig called 'Wilbur' so they named me after the pig. Still not sure how I feel about being named after a pig...) Anyhow... they went to this place called World of Coke where they learned all about how coke was invented and how it's made. (I think it was like being in a giant Coke commercial - at least that's what one of the big owner people said.)
I don't think the big owner people (the Mom and Dad) let the little owner people (aka 'kids') have coke - like ever. So imagine the little owner people's delight to get to drink all the coke they wanted at the end of the tour. They all came back a little crazy. Wonder if its like when I get high octane gasoline - I feel all warm and crazy inside! Watch this video and see what I mean!

This is the biggest owner kid. She is really sweet and gentle and so pretty. I like her a lot, too. She was taking all sorts of pictures and emailing them to her family and friends all over the world. So she looked like this for a lot of the trip. Wish she had emailed them to me. Oh ya - I don't have an email account yet. Or fingers for that matter.

The owner people decided to have lunch at Centennial Park before taking a behind the scenes tour at CNN and it was killing the kids to not be able to play in the fountains. (They left their swim suits with me to safeguard.) But each kid stood in the middle of an Olympic ring circle and the Mommy owner took a picture of them. Can you see them? They had to wait for the fountains to stop before they could get out. The littlest girl kid owner (Anna) was so cute. She wasn't sure when to escape and looked a bit nervous about the whole affair.
Daddy owner took Caleb and Logan to an Atlanta Braves baseball game. Those two little boys just make me laugh all the time. They are crazy and funny and WILD, but still so kind to their sisters. That's hard to do! But boy, do they ever get dirty when they camp. I'm convinced that boys have a magnet that attracts dirt on them. The girls don't seem to have that magnet. Interesting... Anyhow, they went to the baseball game with their friends - here's a picture of ARL - what a sweet friend she is. She loved baseball, too!

The next day they met the L and H family at Zoo Atlanta. I think they giggled and marveled at God's amazing creatures all day long. What fun friends they have.

Then the owner family finally returned Eustace (good riddance! I was getting a bit jealous that they were spending so much time with him. I was getting bored and wanted to join them on their daily adventures!) From there they went to some homeschool conference and they all camped in me in the parking lot of the convention center. Okay, I said the owner family was loud... but I take it all back. Our parking lot was right next to the Atlanta airport - busiest airport in the world I think! Do you know how loud that was??? The owner family must have been really tired because they all slept really well even with planes taking off right on top of us every 2 minutes. I was so thankful we only spent one night there. Whew, I didn't sleep a wink.
Back to Stone Mountain where the Daddy owner took the bigger kids to a laser show. Wish I could've gone. It sounded so cool!
Now this day things started off a little strange. Everyone was making a big fuss over the Mommy owner and giving her cards and kisses and treating her like she was the queen. Not sure what was going on. I heard a bunch of people say "Happy Mother's Day" so I guess that had something to do with it - whatever that is. The Daddy owner made an incredible breakfast in my tiny little kitchen. Don't know how he does that in so small a space. But it made the Mommy owner/queen really happy (especially when he cleaned everything up, too) so I guess it was worth it.
I wish I had this view from my storage space. This campsite was awesome! The owner kids loved playing in the lake right out my side door.
Then do you know what that crazy, adventurous family did next? They climbed that big ol' mountain! Heard the little Anna owner kid climbed the whole thing and back down all - by - her - self. Mommy and Daddy owner were very proud of her.
The Mommy Owner sure loves the Daddy Owner and thinks he's really handsome. (She's always kissing and hugging him - really strange.) He's pretty nice so I could see why she thinks that.
This is the newest owner kid. Isn't he cute? Everyone sure adores him. I think he needs a haircut, though.

The owner family has this strange tradition every evening. They build a fire and put these fluffy white things on a stick and toast them over the fire. Sometimes the boy owner kids burn theirs and then have to blow them out. I think they do it on purpose, but they insist it was an accident. I love when the owner family sits around the fire together. The Daddy owner often reads the Bible to them (wise words in there!) and other books, too. Sometimes they sing (that's not always so enjoyable), tell stories and then one by one the kid owners begin to disappear (littlest ones first) into me for baths and bed.

All in all - a very fun adventure, although, not as long or as far away as I prefer. Once the owner family empties me out, they all disappear into the great big house. Not sure what they do in there, but I'm sure it's really, really fun.
